ABOUT LUCILLA DRAMATIC SOCIETY
WHO WE ARE...
Founded in 1920, Lucilla Dramatic Society is the longest established drama group in Crosby and one of the oldest in the country.
Our home is in Victoria Road West Crosby, where in 1952 number 18, from then on known as “Lucilla House” was bought on behalf of the members. It has belonged to us ever since and provides the society with a club house and facilities for rehearsal, acting and socialising.
We are a friendly group of people brought together by a common interest and love of acting and the theatre. We are always on the lookout for new members so we’d love you to join us. And there are many other roles at our dramatic society if you don’t want to tread the boards - directing, stage management, set construction, prompt, lighting, props, sound effects, admin, publicity, organising social events, looking after the house, doing refreshments and of course serving behind the bar!
WHAT WE DO...
Our season runs from September to July, with a break for the month of August. We aim to stage 4 one act plays each year, a mix of comedy and drama, each performed on a Thursday, Friday and Saturday evening, in the autumn, winter, spring and summer. The club rooms include a studio theatre which seats 60 people, where we stage our plays for members and friends.

Our social programme runs throughout the season on most Friday evenings and includes one act play readings, films, musical evenings, quizzes, treasure hunts, games nights, plus parties at Christmas and the end of season in July. We also have frequent “club nights” when members can just come along to enjoy a drink and a chat.
